What a home opener for the Husson Eagles baseball team. Hosting the St. Joseph's College in the March wind and cold, the Eagles won the game, 2-1, in 15 innings.

Husson centerfielder David LeBlanc drove in the walk-off run on a infield fielder's choice play.

The Monks scored the first run of the game in the 3rd inning. Greg Emanuelson tripled in a run to give St. Joe's the 1-0.

It stayed that way until Husson's Luke Covey ripped a double to drive in a run and tie the game at 1-1.

It stayed that way until the 15th inning.

That's when the Eagle loaded the bases with one out. David LeBlanc hit a chopper to second base but the Monks could not turn the double play and that allowed the winning run to score for third.

Husson used five pitchers to get the win. Jess Colford pitched the final four innings to get the win.

St. Joe's used eight pitchers.

The win gets the Eagles to 8-8. The Monks fall to 13-4.
