Husson junior pitcher Jen Jones racked up 13 strikeouts in a 7-1 win as the Eagles swept their North Atlantic Conference opening doubleheader against SUNY Canton.

Playing on the turf of the Boucher Soccer Field, the Eagles improve their record to 11-5 overall and 2-0 in the NAC.

GAME ONE  Husson 7  SUNY Canton 1: Jones dominated in the circle with the 13 Ks. She gave up one run, just four hits and one walk. She threw 97 pitches.

The Eagles big inning was the 4th when they scored five times to take command. Kylie Kennedy, Bri Brochu and Whitney Bess had RBI in that inning.

GAME TWO  Husson 8  SUNY Canton 5: The Eagles trailed 3-2 into the 4th inning before scoring twice to grab the lead and then added four more in the 6th inning.

Arika Brochu pitched the first six innings and got the win. Jones pitched the 7th.

Morgan Coleman had two hits and RBI for the Eagles. Jones had two hits and a RBI.
