Eagles Win Tune-Up Tourney To Nationals
The Husson Eagles men's golf team put four players in the top eight and won the Wildcat Invitational Tournament in Cranston, Rhode Island Sunday afternoon.
The Eagles beat out 18 other college teams from around New England with a two-day team score of 602, 12 strokes better than second place Western New England.
The tourney is the final tune-up for next month's national tournament for the Eagles.
Mackenize Clow finished T-2nd place with a 149 (+7). Gavin Dugas finished T-4th. Eric Dugas was 7th and Dalton Wickenden T-8th.
The Eagles started the week ranked #5 in the NCAA D-3 regional rankings and has received votes in the national Top-25 Coaches Poll.
Next month, the Eagles will compete in North Carolina at the NCAA D-III National Championship. Husson won the right to play in the nationals by winning the North Atlantic Conference championship last fall.
