Enfield’s Mulligan Gets Shot With Arizona
He started the season with one of the worst teams in the NFL and today Matt Mulligan is with the best team in the NFL.The Enfield resident and former UMaine Black Bear signed with the Arizona Cardinals on Tuesday who have the best record in the NFL at 9-1. The Cards were in need of a blocking tight end after rookie Troy Niklas was placed on season ending injured reserve with a knee injury.
Mulligan has 16 career receptions including 2 touchdowns in 67 games. He played the first two games of the season for the Chicago Bears before getting his release. Since that time several teams have brought him in for tryouts.
Seven year veteran John Carlson is the teams top tight end with 23 receptions and a touchdown this season.
Arizona is on the road for a game at Seattle on Sunday.
