The Hermon Hawks stayed unbeaten on the young season with a 70-65 victory over the Orono Red Riots at home on Wednesday night.

The Hawks led for most of the contest, holding a lead of 14 points at one point, but the Red Riots battled back multiple times to keep the contest close.  Garrett Trask led the way for Hermon with 20 points, including hitting four three pointers in the game.  Keenan Marseille also had 17 points in the win, while freshman Isaac Varney had 14 and Cody Hawes had 10.

The Red Riots were led by senior guard Nate Desisto who had a game high 25 points, but was slowed down considerably in the second half.  Connor Robertson and Jackson Coutts also reached double digits with 11 and 10 points respectively.

With the win Hermon moves to 2-0 and will face MDI at home on Saturday.  Orono drops to 1-1 and will face Mattanawcook Academy on the road on Friday night.
