Favorite Sports Venues Across America Includes Only 1 in Maine
This hot and humid weather is expected to continue this week but check the calendar.
It’s Hockey Season in less than a month.
Hockey is the 4th most popular of the major sports across the country, but those passionate fans who are really into hockey, are, well, really into the game. So, this is an exciting time of the year for them. Or should I say, us.
Football is the biggest sport in the country, and depending on where you are whether basketball or baseball comes next.
And in a recent survey of die-hard sports fans on which team they would most like to watch live, The Boston Red Sox finished first in all of America.
Got to be the rich history of the team and iconic Fenway Park. Green Monster. Pisky Pole. And the chorus of Sweet Caroline, so good, so good.
Second on the list of where to go to watch a game is Green Bay, Wisconsin. The Packers being community owned is a great small-town story, and Lambeau Field is a special place.
We go on with the list
Jumping to #92 on the list, Maine shows up.
Is it the Portland Sea Dogs baseball team at Hadlock Field? Nope.
Maine Mariners hockey team at Cross Insurance Arena in Portland? No, again.
But it is a hockey team and hockey arena on the list.
Want to see collegiate hockey at its finest, step into the Alfond Arena in Orono. What a special experience to be in that crowd, even if the program is in rebound phase.
The Maine Black Bears, in the signature navy blue, white and sky-blue uniforms just look so good.
And the arena can have a vibe. A pulse. And it gets electric.
Black Bears open up the season early next month. Hope the thought of ice helped cool you off, if only for a minute or two.
Nice to see Jeremy Swayman working out with the team last week.
Here’s the list of all the 'Once in a Lifetime' experiences when it comes to sports teams and their venues.
