Catch Cooper Flagg trading jump shots for jokes on late night

When the 2026 winter Olympic wrap up this Sunday, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon will return to the late-night lineup on NBC, with a very impressive guest, on Monday, February 23rd, at 11:30pm.

Cooper Flagg’s rookie year in the NBA hasn’t just been impressive, it’s been historic. The No. 1 overall pick has quickly become a star for the Dallas Mavericks, averaging around 20.4 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game through his first 49 games, which are numbers most rookies can only dream of hitting. Along the way he’s shattered teen scoring records, dropping a career-high 49 points, which just happens to be the most ever by a teenager in a single NBA game, and he and routinely puts up big all-around stat lines that include 30-point nights and near triple-doubles.

Even with a brief foot injury, Flagg’s mix of scoring, playmaking, and rebounding has made his first season must-watch, and the hype only keeps building as he grows into his star role.

It all started at Nokomis Regional High School in Newport, where he led the team to a 21-1 record, on the way to the Class A State Championship, but the nest step was inevitable!

Michigan and UCLA, were the first to offer Flagg a scholarship to play ball after high school, but the chance to play for THE powerhouse of college basketball, the Duke Blue Devils, was just too good to pass up.

Now, here we are, at the halfway point of his first season in the NBA, and all the fame and fortune that comes with it, all leading up to his appearance on a iconic, late night talk show

Jimmy Fallon has been the face of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon since 2014, bringing his signature mix of laughs, games, and musical bits to late night. A former Saturday Night Live cast member, he quickly made the show feel fun and unpredictable. Fallon helped bring The Tonight Show back to New York City, made it a must-watch for both TV and viral clips online, and has spent well over a decade creating fun content that keeps audiences coming back every weeknight.
