UMaine righty Cody Laweryson threw seven brilliant innings of shutout ball while his offense pounded out double digit hits as the Black Bears finish a weekend sweep of UMass Lowell with a 5-0 win Sunday afternoon.

Maine improves to 6-5 in America East Conference play (7-26 overall)

Laweryson allowed just four hits and a walk in seven innings. He struck out eight.

Nick Sinacola finished the last two innings for the Bears.

Eight of the nine Maine hitters in the lineup had at least one hit. Joe Bramanti and Jeff Omohundro each had two.

NOTE: UMaine softball freshman pitcher Emily Reid pitched her team to a 5-2 win at Hartford Sunday afternoon. The Bears second AE win (2-7) (9-22 overall).
