Machias Upends Katahdin To Earn Semifinal Spot [BOYS]

The No. 6 Machias Bulldogs took down the No. 3 Katahdin Cougars Monday in the first Class D North quarterfinal game in Bangor.

Machias, the defending state champions, came away with a 56-47 win over Katahdin, who struggled offensively in the early morning contest at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.

A pair of senior guards led the Bulldogs (12-7) in scoring with Alex Marotta during in 23 points, and Jordan Grant adding 16 points.

For Katahdin (13-6), Brady Guiggey had 14 points and Rigoberto Otero added 10 points.
