UMaine football freshman Josh Mack and senior Pat Ricard were announced by the Colonial Athletic Association as its Rookie and Defensive Player of the Week respectively after their performances in the Black Bears' 35-31 victory against Bryant on Saturday afternoon.

Mack rushed for 151 total yards and notched three touchdowns to help ignite the UMaine offense.  Mack became the first running back to score three TDs in a game since Pushaun Brown accomplished the feat in October of 2011 against Delaware.

Ricard had a career high three sacks in the contest and had eight tackles in the win.  The defensive end was vital in the team's defensive effort to come back from 21 points down to earn UMaine's first victory of the season.

The Black Bears are now 1-3 on the season and will head out on the road to face Delaware in a CAA match-up on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
