Maine Moose Win 18U Nat'l Title

The Maine Moose 18-Under hockey team is a national champion for a third straight year. In San Jose, California over the weekend, the Moose defeated a team from Arizona 6-3 to capture the Tier II title.

The team is coached by Jeff Ross and several area players are on the roster, including Josh Wheeler and Brendan Gasaway of Old Town, Rece Poulin Cooper Leland of Hampden.

The Maine Moose plays out of Augusta and the team includes players from all over Maine. The team won the state championship back in November.

The Moose play under the U.S. Premier Hockey League.
