MCI QB Friend Is Athlete of Week

MCI quarterback Ryan Friend has won this week's online voting for High School Athlete of the Week for Week 8.

Nearly 1,500 votes during this week at 929theticket.com and Friend received almost 39% of them.

Skowhegan field hockey player Alexis Michonski received  31% of the votes.

Friend led the Huskies to a win over Hermon in the regular season finale and scored three TDs. The threw for 100 yards and rushed for almost 100 yards.

Orono's cross country champ Kyle McClellan and Bucksprort's Jaxson Gross were also nominated for the weekly award.
