Messo's Mayo Win 7th OVC Rookie Award

Another great week of play for former Messalonskee HS standout Nick Mayo nets him another Ohio Valley Conference Rookie-of-the-Week Award - for the 7th time this season.

Mayo's Eastern Kentucky Colonels scored a win over Jacksonville State and then lost to Tennessee Tech. He averaged 19ppg and 7rpg. Mayo had his first double-double (20 points, 10 rebounds) in the Tennessee Tech game.

The 6-foot-9 freshman is the first 7-time winner of the rookie award at EKU in 13 years.

The Colonels are 12-10 overall, 3-4 in OVC play.
