Montgomery Coaches Denver To Frozen Four
In his third season at the helm of UDenver hockey, former UMaine Black Bear Jim Montgomery has led his Pioneers to the Frozen Four Championship. A 6-3 win in the West Regional over Ferris State sends Montgomery and team to the college hockey championship.
Denver is 25-9-6 and will join Boston College, North Dakota and Quinnipiac(4-1 over UMass Lowell) in Tampa Bay from April 7th through the 9th for the Frozen Four.
Montgomery is UMaine all-time point leader with 301 career points in 170 games. He captained the 1992-93 Black Bear team that won the national championship with a 42-1-2 record.
