NCAA: Black Bears Head To Texas [VIDEO]

BREAKING NEWS: The UMaine women's basketball team is headed to Austin, Texas to take on the Texas Longhorns in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

The selection committee pegged the (23-9) Black Bears as a #15 seed. (26-6)Texas is a #2 seed and get to play on their home court.

Gametime is 6PM ET on Saturday. The game can be seen on ESPN2.

Maine is making its first NCAA appearance since 2004. It is the 8th appearance overall.

Texas is ranked #8 nationally and lost to Baylor in the Big 12 Conference Championship game. This is the fifth straight year for the Longhorns in the NCAAs.

Texas starts two seniors, two juniors and a sophomore. Four of their five starters average double-digit scoring.

The teams had no common opponents.
