The University of Southern Maine baseball team took advantage of an 8th inning throwing error and scored a come-from-behind 3-2 over Amherst College at the NCAA Division III Regional in New York.

The victory puts the (28-13) Huskies in a winner's bracket game tonight vs Salisbury at 7:45pm.

In the win over Amherst, the Huskies trailed 2-1 in the 8th inning when Jake Dexter's stroked a game-tying RBI hit. Then an errant throw by the Amherst catcher allowed Dylan Hapworth to score from third base and give USM the 3-2.

Dexter pitched the 9th inning to record his 12th save of the year. Dalton Rice pitched the first eight innings and got the win.
