NCAA Playoffs: Bears Keep Rolling, 23-18 [VIDEO]
The UMaine Footballl team set history Friday night, beating #2 seed Weber State in Utah 23-18 and earning a spot in the final four of the FCS football playoffs for the first time in school history.
And they earned the spot with bruising defense and big plays on offense.
The (10-3) Black Bears defense picked off Weber State QB Jake Constantine four times and sacked him three times. The Bears had 13 tackles for losses and finished the game allowing the Wildcats -1 yards rushing the ball.
Meanwhile, Maine QB Chris Ferguson threw two touchdown passes in the second half. Check out the plays here...
With under two minutes to go in the game, Kenny Doak kicked a 46-yard field goal that would wrap up the game, despite a last second TD by Weber State.
Maine has now won six straight games and own victories over seven top-25 teams this season.
Now the Black Bears await the winner of today's #6 Uviversity of California-Davis and #3 Eastern Washington game. The Bears will travel to one of those spots next weekend.
