The Husson University softball team lost its first round NCAA Tournament game 1-0 to MIT when the Engineers hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 10th inning.

Heartbreak for the Eagles and pitcher Jen Jones who pitched 9.2 innings of three hit, 10 strikeout softball. She is the two-time North Atlantic Conference Pitcher of the Year.

MIT's #7 hitter in the lineup, Phoebe Li, hit the homer to win it.

The solo shot ended a great pitching between Jones and Ravenne Nasser. The MIT pitcher won her 17th game by pitching 10 innings of two hit ball. Nasser walked one and struck out six.

Jones ended up throwing 137 pitches. Nasser threw 122.

While (28-10) MIT moves into the winner's bracket game, (24-10) Husson will play Eastern Nazarene (MA) in an elimination game at 1:30pm Saturday.
