The Braintree, Massachusetts American Legion baseball team scored four runs off Bangor Comrades pitcher Ethan Stoddard and made those runs hold up for a 4-1 at the Northeast Regional Tournament.

The Coffee News Comrades fall to 1-1 and will play an elimination game Friday afternoon at 1pm.

After giving up those four runs on five hits, Stoddard settled in and allowed just two hits the rest of the way.

The Comrades offense was shut down by Braintree pitchers Kyle Gray and Kyle Roche. They combined on a seven hitter and struck out 12 Bangor batters.

The only run for the Comrades came in the 6th inning. Tyler Parke scored a balk.

Jesse Colford, who won the state title game on Sunday, will be eligible to pitch the Friday game after sitting out four days on the pitch count rule.
