The Nokomis Warriors nipped the Brewer Witches 3-2 in exhibition baseball under the lights at Mansfield Stadium on Tuesday, April 12.

Brewer led 2-1 before Nokomis scored 2 runs in the top of the 6th inning. Lane Godsoe drove in the winning runs for the Warriors

Brewer pitchers fanned 10 . Anderson Clifford started for the Witches and went 3.0 innings allowing 2 hits and 1 run. He struck out 4 and walked 3. Alex Hodgins went 2.2 innings and allowed 2 runs and 2 hits. He struck out 4. Jed Gilpatrick went the final 1.1 innings, striking out 2 and walking 2. He didn't allow a hit.

Nokomis used 7 pitchers, with each pitcher going an inning. Combined they struck out 12. Cody Chretien pitched the 1st inning and allowed 2 hits and 1 run. He walked 1. Connor Sides came on in the 2nd inning and struck out the side, allowing 1 hit. Mason Hopkins pitched the 3rd inning, striking out 2 while allowing 3 hits and 1 run. Jacob Neumayer pitched the 4th inning, striking out 2 and giving up 1 hit. Hunter Upton pitched the 5th inning, walking 2 while striking out 2. Alex Vashon struck out 2 in the 6th inning and Aiden Trafton pitched the 7th, striking out 1 and walking 1.

Owen Upton had a double for Nokomis and Lane Godsoe was 2-2.

For Brewer  Evan Nadeau and Grady Vanidestine each had a double. Jed Gilpatrick and Michael Gilpatrick were 2-2. Logan Levansalor had a single.

Nokomis has another exhibition game on Thursday, April 14th at Medomak Valley and opens the regular season on Tuesday, April 19th at Belfast.

Brewer will play Hermon at Mansfield Stadium Wednesday, April 14th at 7 p.m. and opens the regular season on Tuesday, April 19th at Mansfield Stadium against Messalonskee at 4:30 p.m.
