Ryan Shorette scored a game-high 20 points to help lead the Orono Red Riots to a 62-35 victory over the John Bapst Crusaders at Cross Insurance Center on Monday night.

Shorette scored 14 of his points in the 2nd quarter, helping lead the Red Riots to a 41-17 lead at the halftime break. Orono continued to add to its cushion in the third quarter, outscoring John Bapst 14-7. The Red Riots crusied to victory, as the Crusaders were not able to chip away at the lead.

Senior forward Connor Robertson and sophomore guard Zack Dill added 12 points apiece for Orono.

Rhett McDonald and Jagger Cummings both scored 7 points for John Bapst.

The Red Riots improved to 9-6, while the Crusaders fell to 3-11.

Orono, who entered the night sitting in sixth place in the B North heal point standings, have won five of their last seven games.

Next up for the Red Riots, a matchup with MDI at Orono High School on Friday.
