The New England Patriots have found their back-up quarterback after the trade of Jimmy Garoppolo, and it's a familiar face.

In his 66 starts as an NFL QB, Hoyer has posted a record of 26-40 and thrown 48 total touchdowns in his nine-year pro career.  He was released by the 49ers after the trade that send Garoppolo to San Francisco on Monday night.

The Pats traded Garoppolo for a second round draft pick this week and New England will now have until November 12th to get Hoyer ready for his new role with the team, after the bye week.
