Pitt,SF Draft Black Bears

Mike Fransoso and Mike Connolly waited for 26 rounds of players to be selected and when the 27th round came up the two UMaine Black Bears were selected within 13 picks of each other.

The shortstop Fransoso was picked by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 27th round, the 809th player drafted. He is a senior.

The junior pitcher/catcher Connolly was taken by San Francisco with their 27th round pick, the 822nd player selected. Connolly will have a decision to make. He is eligible to return to UM for his senior year.

The draft continues through Saturday with 40 rounds.
