Longtime St. Joseph's College coach Will Sanborn has joined the 700-win club in Division III baseball.

Win #700 was a dramatic walk-off 4-3 victory over GNAC conference opponent Rivier University over the weekend. A game two win over Rivier and a win Monday over Bowdoin puts Sanborn up to 702 and counting.

Sanborn has been head coach of the Monks for 26 years. His 702-369 record makes him one of three active coaches in New England with 700 wins. He is the 37th D-III in the country with 700 wins. His teams have made eight NCAA tournament appearances.

Sanborn's Monks will travel to Mahaney Diamond in Orono to play a non-conference game vs the UMaine Black Bears Wednesday, April 18th.

NOTE: University of Southern Maine baseball coach Ed Flaherty is closing in on the 1,000 win mark. Flaherty's Huskies have won 986 games going into today's game vs Colby College. Flaherty has been at USM since 1986.
