Julia Steeves of Skowhegan High School won our McDonald’s High School Athlete of the Week with 27 percent of the total vote over Olivia Tiner of Winslow High School, Addi Williams of MCI, Bryant Kiley of Brewer High School, Nick Clawson of Foxcroft Academy, and Connor Crawford of Ellsworth High School.

The Skowhegan captain had a big week in the Class A North Field Hockey playoffs for her side.  She logged five goals in a quarterfinal victory versus Edward Little, and then knocked in a crucial goal versus Cony in a 4-1 win in the semifinals.  Steeves also scored a goal in the 3-1 victory for Skowhegan versus Messalonskee in the Class A North final, the 17th straight regional title win for the program.  The Indians will now head to the Class A State Title game on Saturday against Westbrook.

Steeves took home the vote with over 1,400 submissions this past week.
