State Legion: Bangor Falls In 10 Innings [SCORES]

An extra innings thriller in the winner's bracket game at the Maine State American Legion Baseball Tournament Monday night. Coastal Landscape of Portland knocks off the Bangor Coffee News Comrades 5-3 in 10 innings.

The win puts (3-0) Coastal in the championship round on Wednesday, not matter what happens in their game vs Bessey Motors.

(2-1) Bangor must beat Yankee Ford of South Portland Tuesday at 4pm and then would have to win two games on Wednesday to capture the state title.

The Comrades grabbed three runs in the first inning but Coastal chipped away with runs in the 4th and 6th innings to tie the game 3-3.

Then it got into a 'who's going to flinch first' thing.

Bangor left the bases loaded in the bottom of the 7th inning.

Coastal left the bases loaded in the top of the 8th.

Bangor stranded the winning run at third base in the bottom of the 8th.

Coastal left the bases loaded in the top of the 9th.

Bangor left the bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th.

Then, Coastal scored twice in the 10th to take a 5-3 lead.

The Comrades rallied to load the bases in the in the bottom of the 10th but could not score.

Game over.

Both teams left 14 runners on base.
