The Road To A Five-Peat Begins

With temperatures in the 20's, a wind chill in the teens and lots of snow still on the ground, high school baseball and softball players all over the state gathered in warm gyms Monday for the first day of their week-long arm conditioning programs.

Actual tryouts and practices begin next Monday.

At Red Barry Gym in Bangor, the Rams began the road to a possible fifth straight Class A state championship. No school, regardless of class, has won five consecutive state titles.

The Rams open the season April 17th at Lewiston.
