Halfway through the U.S. Open Golf Championship Gary Woodland leads after shooting a 6-under-par 65 in Friday's round two at Pebble Beach in California.

He's trying to win his first major tournament.

Woodland's 9-under-par 133 matches the score Tiger Woods posted at Pebble Beach U.S. Open of 2000.

This year, Tiger is tied for 32nd place after shooting a 72 Friday.

Justin Rose is Woodlan'd closest competition, two shots back at 7-under.

Brooks Koepka, who has won the last two U.S. Open title and won the PGA Championship last month, lurks just five shots back at 4-under par.
