Top-seed MDI Holds Off Defending Champs Winslow In Overtime [GIRLS]

It took overtime to decide the battle between two of the best teams in the region, with the top-seed MDI Trojans holding off the defending state champion Winslow Black Raiders in a thriller Wednesday night in Bangor.

After a Julia Watras three-pointer sent the game to extra time, MDI outscored Winslow 7-1 in overtime to come away with a 57-51 win.

Hannah Chamberlain led the Trojans with 16 points. Watras and Maddy Candage each had 14 points. Point guard Alexis Clorita added 13 points in the win.

Silver Clukey led Winslow with 20 points.

MDI will play Waterville for the Class B North title at 8:35 p.m. on Saturday at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.
