Former UMaine Fort Kent goalie Kimika Forbes and her Trinidad & Tobago team come up just short in their bid to qualify for next summer's Women's World Cup Tournament.

Ecuador defeated Trinidad & Tobago 1-0 in the second and final qualifier game. Ecuador earns the spot in the FIFA World Cup in Canada next summer.

Ecuador scored the only goal about a minute into injury time.

Kimika Forbes helped lead UMFK to the USCAA national championship a year ago. She had a 14-1-1 record in goal for the Bengals.

She is still a student this year at UMFK while playing on her national team.
