UM Recruits Win Bronze At Tourney [VIDEO]

Two incoming recruits to the UMaine women’s basketball team wrapped up a bronze medal performance for Spain in the 2016 FIBA 3x3 World Championships over the weekend.

Naira Caceres and Laia Sole, who will both be in Orono with the Black Bears this fall, led their team to a 5-2 record and fell a point shy of reaching the championship.

Sole was the fifth leading scorer in the competition with 36 points and Caceres also added 30 of her own which was good for 12^th overall.

Both players have announced their intentions to play basketball with the Black Bears and will come to Orono for the upcoming fall season.
