UMaine Comeback Falls Short
The UMaine men's basketball team finished up its pre-Christmas schedule was a loss at UMass 74-63 in a game that truly was a tale of two halves.
In the first half, the Black Bears shooting woes left trailing 40-15 at halftime. While the Minutemen were shooting 60%, Maine was 1-for-15 shooting three-pointers and just 21% overall.
In the second half, the Bears roared back and out scored UMass 48-34, including a 32-9 run at the end of the game.
But not enough and Maine falls to 3-11 with one non-conference game left before America East play.
Ilija Stojiljkovic led the Bears with 16 points. Andrew Fleming had 10.
Carl Pierre led UMass with 25. The Minutemen are 7-6.
