The UMaine women's basketball went into ACC country Sunday afternoon and took down the North Carolina Tar Heels 85-73.

Blanca Millan led the Black Bears with 21 points but she had lots of help. Tanesha Sutton added 17, Dor Saar had 15, Parise Rossignol with 14 and off the bench Kelly Fogarty added 12.

The Bears shot 49% from the field and 48% from the three-point line (16-for-33). Maine led UNC by as many as 21 points.

The 16 three-pointers ties a school record.

Janelle Bailey led the Tar Heels with 21 points.

Put the UMaine record at 5-2 with the next game at Harvard Tuesday night.

North Carolina drops to 5-4.
