UMaine’s Er Named Rookie Of The Week

University of Maine guard Ilker Er was named the Rookie of the Week by the America East conference for his efforts in the past two games with the Black Bears.

Er averaged 14 points and 5.5 rebounds in the past week, including connecting with 40 percent of shots from three-point range against LIU Brooklyn and UMaine Presque Isle.  The junior transfer is averaging 9.7 points per game through the first six games, which is good for second on the team behind Wes Myers (13.8).

Maine is 2-4 on the season and will head back to the Cross Insurance Center for a game against Central Connecticut State on Wednesday evening before heading to face Duke in North Carolina on Saturday.
