At the end of a long, long Sunday, the University of Southern Maine baseball simply ran out of gas and pitching. Swathmore College beat the Huskies 9-3 in the championship game of the NCAA Division III Regional in New York.

USM made it to the late night title game by coming from behind and beating SUNY-Cortland 12-10 in 10 innings.

The Huskies then had to face unbeaten Swathmore.

Four different USM pitchers gave up runs On offense, the Huskies managed just seven hits.

USM has now lost in the title game of a regional in back to back years. The Huskies finish the season 30-15.

Swathmore (37-9) goes on to the D-III College World Series.
