It is a list of the 'who's who' in Maine basketball lore. The 5th class of inductees to the Maine Basketball Hall of Fame have their day Sunday at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.

Cindy Blodgett, in her first year of eligibility, joins the Hall of Fame. First at Lawrence High School, then at UMaine and then in the WNBA, Blodgett was the face of basketball in the state of Maine.

Blodgett's teammate at UMaine, Jonesport-Beals standout Sandi Carver joins her as a Class of '18 inductee.

Among the coaches entering the Hall - longtime Mt. Blue HS coach Jim Bessey. And, one of his players, 500 win Camden Hills coach Jeff Hart.

Perhaps no inductee has the resume of the late Delmont 'Del' Merrill. A player for Ellsworth HS, went on to coach in high school and at Husson University. Merrill was a outstanding basketball official. He become Husson's athletic director and eventually the school's president.
