The Coffee News Comrades Bangor American Legion team has earned a spot in Sunday's Zone 1 Tournament championship game. The Comrades beat the Hampden RH Foster Riverdogs team 10-4 in Saturday's winners bracket game.

In the nightcap, Brewer advanced to the title game with a 2-0 shutout over Hampden's RH Foster Riverdogs team.

Both Bangor and Brewer will advance to the State American Legion Tournament. The Sunday game decides who is champion and who is runnerup.

Bangor 10  Hampden 4: The Comrades opened up a close game with three runs in the 5th inning and five more in the 6th inning.

Ethan Stoddard led the Comrades with three hits and two RBI. Jesse Colford and Austin Sheehan also had two RBI each.

Gary Farnham pitched eight innings to get the win on the hill.

 

Brewer 2  Hampden 0: After coming from behind to beat Skowhegan 8-7 earlier in the day, Chase Carmichael and Issac Eustler combined on a combined on a six-hitter to beat the Riverdogs.

Alex Maxsimic and Tyler Hersey led the offense with two hits each.
