The UMaine softball team's quest for the America East Championship is over. The season ends with a 2-0 loss to Stony Brook on Friday afternoon.

The Black Bears had lost their opening game of the tourney but then had won two straight games.

Friday, the Bears ran into a tough pitcher in Melissa Rahrich. The Seawolves righty pitched complete game shutout, giving up just four hits to Maine.

Stony Brook scored its runs on a bases loaded walk and a sacrifice fly.

Maine finishes with a 22-25 record.
