UMaine freshman goalie Jeremy Swayman stopped 39 Providence shots but could not get #40 as the Friars scored a 3-2 overtime win over the Black Bears.

Scott Conway scored the Providence goal with just 48 seconds left in OT.

Chase Pearson and Ryan Smith scored the two goals for Maine.

The Bears drop to 9-8-3 in Hockey East and 15-11-4.

Providence, ranked #9 nationally in some polls, is now 11-6-4 and 18-9-4.
