Bangor HS senior Garth Berenyi scored three goals to help his Rams beat Mt. Blue 6-2 and earn a trip to the Class A North regional final next Wednesday.

Berenyi now is the new Bangor school record holder for career goals. He has 57 goals (32 this year), surpassing former Ram Nick George (56 goals) for the top spot.

The Rams needed all three goals as the Cougars came from a 3-0 deficit to make it 3-2 late in the game.

When Mt. Blue started taking chances to get the game tying goal, Bangor took advantage and scored three times in the last four minutes.

Jacob Berenyi, Roland Mattsen and Jacob Henry scored the other goals for the Rams.

#1 seed Bangor is now 15-0-1 and meets #2 seed Lewiston in the regional final.

NOTE:  The Bangor girls soccer team defeated Brunswick 3-0 to earn a spot in the regional final next week. The Rams will meet Camden Hills for the right to go to the state championship game.
