UMaine goalie Rob McGovern stopped 25 shots in a Black Bears 3-2 over RPI while his teammate, Jeremy Swayman, was backup goalie for Team USA at the World Junior Tournament in Buffalo.

The U.S. team beat Canada 4-3 in a shootout in front of a record-breaking crowd of 44,000 in the outdoor game at the Buffalo Bills stadium,

UMaine 3  RPI 2: Nolan Vesey scored two goals in the first 3:13 of the game while Tim Doherty scored what turned out to be the game winner in the second period against RPI. McGovern made 27 saves. The Black Bears start the second semester with a win that puts them at 9-7-2. Game two of the series in Troy, NY is Saturday afternoon at 4pm.
