Black Bears Win 10th Straight Game
Tanesha Sutton puts up a second straight double-double as the UMaine women's basketball team runs its winning streak to 10 straight games. The Black Bears beat UMass Lowell 60-41.
The victory puts Maine at 21--7 overall and 14-1 in America East.
Sutton had 19 points and 10 rebounds. As a team, the Bears hit on 10 three-pointers.
Maine outscored the River Hawks 30-12 in the second half.
One more game left of the regular season schedule, at Binghamton on Saturday.
UM Lowell 70 UMaine Men 61: The last time these two teams played, Andrew Fleming had a historic shooting night and ended up on SportsCenter. Fleming is now out with a season ending injury.
Halfway through the second half, Maine was tied 51-51 with UML but got outscored 19-10 the rest of the game.
Vincent Eze had 15 points to lead the Bears.
Maine is 3-11 in AE and 5-24 overall. The final regular season game is Saturday morning at 11am at the Cross Center.
