The Bowdoin College women's basketball team can make their way to the Division III Final Four for a second straight year and never leave Morrell Gymnasium on the Brunswick campus.

The NCAA has awarded a Sweet 16 Sectional to the Polar Bears for the first time since 2004. It's one of four Sectionals around the country.

(28-1) Bowdoin will host (25-4) SUNY New Paltz in one game Friday night. (27-2) DeSales will host (24-5) Ithaca in the other matchup. Winners meet Saturday for the right to go to the Final Four.

The Polar Bears are in the Sweet 16 with wins over Hunter College and Smith College over the weekend. In the Saturday win over Smith, senior Taylor Choate tied a school record, scoring 38 points. She also tied a Bowdoin record with seven three-pointers.
