BREAKING NEWS: Chris Morris is coming home to become the new head coach of Husson University baseball, replacing Jason Harvey who stepped down as coach last month.

The Hampden native graduated from Husson in 2010 and captained the baseball team.

"I am very honored to be named the head baseball coach at Husson University," remarks Morris. "It is with great pride that I take this position. There has always been a strong tradition of success in the baseball program and I look forward to continuing that success."  - Husson Press Release

Morris began his coaching career with the Brewer Legion program and worked as an assistant coach at Bangor High School.

He then became pitching coach and a football assistant at Husson.

Morris spent three years as pitching coach at MIT in Boston and last year was pitching coach for Brandeis University.

He also coached the Sanford Mainers of the New England Collegiate Baseball League.

"We are thrilled to have Chris take the reins of our baseball program, announces Pergolizzi. "Chris certainly has a love for Husson University and Husson baseball. His experience at other top-notch Division III institutions as well as collegiate summer wooden bat baseball will be of much value to our program. We are confident that Husson baseball will continue to experience great success." - Husson Press Release

Chris Morris is a nephew of Bangor HS coach Dave Morris.
