Boston Celtics first round pick Marcus Smart has been chosen to play for the 2014 USA Men's Select team. This is often times a stepping stone to join the USA national team in the future.

Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love and Derek Rose are among the players who got their start with USA Basketball through this select team.

Smart played his college basketball at Oklahoma State. The Celtics chose him with their #6 pick in the June draft. Most observers felt he played well on the Celtics summer league team in Orlando.

Others picked for the USA Select Team include Harrison Barnes, Cody Zeller, Trey Burke and Doug McDermott.
