
Former UM Captain Signs UDenver Extension
Former UMaine hockey captain Jim Montgomery has signed a contract extension that keeps him as University of Denver coach through the 2020-21 season.
Montgomery led his Pioneers to a berth in the Frozen Four Tournament back in April. In three season as Denver coach, he has a 69-40-14 record and three NCAA playoff appearances.
He was a finalist for the Spencer Penrose National Coach of the Year award.
Montgomery helped lead the UM Black Bears to a national title in 1993. He finishes his college career in Orono with 301 career points.
