Woodland volleyball players, coaches and their fans have waited 17 years for this day. A state championship day win, 3-1, and it came with a victory over rival Calais.

The Class C title match was played in front of a big crowd at Hampden Academy.

#3 seed Calais, playing in its fourth straight state championship match won the first set 25-19.

Top ranked Woodland came back to win the next three sets, 25-20, 25-23 and 25-22.

Emily Curtis led the Dragons with 16 kills and 10 digs.

Maya Gallant added 14 kills along with going 24-for-24 serving and five aces.
