Hargreaves Wins Athlete Of Week Honors

Old Town High School track & field standout Emma Hargreaves win this week's online vote of the High School Athlete of the Week.

Hargreaves got 45% of the vote among four student-athletes who broke Penobscot Valley Conference records at the championship meet last weekend.

Hargreaves broke a 36-year PVC record in the shot put, throwing it a distance of 41-feet 10.5 inches. She also won the discus throw.

She won the Class B Indoor state title in the shot put earlier in the school year.

Other record breakers up for the weekly Athlete of the Week nomination - Hermon's Zach Beaton, MA's Cayden Spencer-Thompson and Orono's Camille Kohtala.
