The finely tuned engine called the Hermon Hawks was running on all cylinders Thursday night in a 59-41 win over the Orono Red Riots.

The defending Class B state champs move to 7-0 and slide into the #1 spot in Heal Points.

Hermon's defense forced 18 Orono turnovers and held the Red Riots to just 14 points in the first half. The Hawks led 37-14 at halftime.

The Hawks balanced offensive attack is tough to stop. Isaac Varney led with 17 points. Cody Hawes added 10.Garrett Trask scored seven. And, off the bench, Eli Reed scored eight.

Orono got 10 points from Sam Martin.

The Riots drop to 4-4.

Next for the Hawks it's the Ellsworth Eagles Saturday afternoon. The Red Riots play Winslow Saturday.
