Hayes Knocked Out Of USGA Mid-Amateur
Maine amateur golfer John Hayes has been knocked out of the USGA Mid-Amateur Championship, losing in the round-of-32 match play.
After winning his match in the round-of-64 yesterday, Hayes took on a North Carolina golfer, Josh Nichols today.
The two competitors were never separated by more than one hole all day but Nichols won the 15th and 16th holes to take the lead. They halved the final two holes and Nichols won 1-up.
